Global Ports Holding Plc ("GPH" or "Group"), the world's largest independent cruise port operator, is delighted to announce that it will shortly open its new Caribbean and Americas Regional Headquarters in Nassau, Bahamas.
In what is an exciting development for Global Ports Holding, our new Regional Headquarters will be based in downtown Nassau.
The new Regional Headquarters will play a central role in delivering GPH’s strategy for growth in the Caribbean and wider Americas region. The Caribbean accounts for more than one third of the global cruise industry market share, and the industry is continuing to experience record levels of growth as more ships are being built and more cruise lines are entering the business. Having a presence in Nassau will allow GPH to play a central role in the industry’s future development in the region.
GPH is continuing to build and strengthen our team of regional executives to include some of the best talent in the industry from around the world. Colin Murphy, Head of Business Development for The Americas, was the first executive appointed to the Caribbean and Americas Team in December 2017. A long-time cruise industry executive, Colin brings a wealth of cruise industry experience to his role, having worked for 19 years at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) before joining GPH.
GPH is also pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Maura, Jr., as Regional Director for the Caribbean and the Americas. CEO of Global Ports Holding, Emre Sayin, expressed the team’s delight at Maura’s appointment. “Mike’s extensive industry experience and commitment to service and operational excellence make him a perfect fit to help us achieve the ambitious goals that we’ve set to expand our regional footprint. His impressive level of maritime industry knowledge and leadership skills are among the best we’ve found anywhere in the world. We are very pleased to add this outstanding Bahamian businessman to our team.”
