For a short time, Nassau was once known as the pirate capital of the world. Located a four-minute drive and eight-minute walk from The Port is Pirates of Nassau Museum. The museum allows attendees to wander through various displays showcasing the life and times of Pirates in The Bahamas in 1716. You can learn facts about pirate living quarters, vessels of the day, tools, weaponry, famous pirates, and the museum also provides historical information of what is known as “The Golden Age of Piracy”. The museum is wheelchair accessible and tours are self-guided. It is sure to be fun the whole family will enjoy! For those that want to take some pirate treasure home, there is a gift shop on site where Pirate-themed souvenirs and goods can be purchased.
